Desert Ridge High School is a very accepting, energetic, and welcoming environment. From the clubs and student organizations to a variety of different classes, this high school truly embodies what a 9-12 school should look like. However, based on personal experience, a person should be aware that some branches of extra-curricular activities are not very inclusive. The music and arts program is slightly biased and prejudiced, and it has been said that the same applies to sports. Besides this, Desert Ridge is a beautiful campus with great academics and teachers. I am so blessed that I have had the opportunity to attend this great school for four years!

I have been attending Desert Ridge high school all four years and I am very pleased with the experience. The campus is kept very clean in comparison to other high schools in Arizona. The courtyard is full of grass and trees, benches for the students to enjoy lunch and times with friends and there's also shades areas which come in handy on extremely sunny days and rainy days. Desert Ridge has very kind-hearted, and academically smart teachers and staff. Desert Ridge is a huge anti-bully school where all students treat each other with respect and care. Many classes offer tutoring and extra help outside of the class for those who need it. Our school takes academics seriously as well as our athletic programs and fine art programs. I am extremely proud to call myself a jaguar! I love being able to be a senior and see the freshman on campus get along with everyone else. No one is out-casted and everyone feels welcome.
Overall, my experience at Desert Ridge High School was a good one, the students and teachers are very friendly. I had this teacher that always chit-chatted with her students and never taught her classes and my grade ended up suffering. Not because I was bad at math (Which I thought I was for the longest time). It was just the class environment as well as the way the teacher taught and took care of the class. I have teachers that do care about my grades and my future and I am very thankful for their support and I still talk to them as a Senior even though I had them 2+ years ago and even retired ones. I was a part of the school's Air Force JROTC program and my ASI was one of the best instructors out there. He is retired but we still keep in touch, he truly did care about the cadets and students at Desert Ridge. There's always going to be something unappealing about an experience, but I have seen the good in attending Desert Ridge High School and I wouldn't change it for anything!
