Des Moines Christian School is a place that I will always be thankful for. It has helped me grow in so many ways and provided me with amazing friends, mentors, and an amazing Christian education. This school is very intentional in relationships and helping students grow not only academic wise but as people. The teachers push us to be the best people that we can be, but also push us to be the best students we can be! I am so thankful for my highschool, and wouldn't trade my experience for the world!
We have had children at Des Moines Christian for 10 years. In this short amount of time we have noticed the school slowly shift from a Christ centered focus to a school trying to cater to families looking for a private school experience (and not necessarily Christian). The current superintendent and administration have recently poured millions of dollars into the school's facilities and athletics.
Sadly though, children with special needs are not able to attend Des Moines Christian. It's not for a lack of money, but a lack of priority. The school continues to grow and spend money at record rates but they have yet to address accommodating children with special needs. All children are created in the image of God and deserve an opportunity receive a Christian education. Other Christian schools can support these students and so can DMCS.

It is a great Christian school. It's small enough (around 65-75 students per class) that you know everyone there and it's a big family. But it's big enough that I can have many dual-credit courses and have nice classrooms. Anyone can play sports here unlike public schools. Our school has just built a new facility that encloses a gym/theater, STEAM labs, fine-arts rooms, and the entire pre-k branch of DMC. The state of the art weight room and football field are really nice! I have many good friendships here. What I like the most about Des Moines Christian School is that the teachers actually care for the students. They are not here for the money since most of them can earn more money at public schools or colleges (we have a couple professors). I have great relationships with all my teachers (except Mr. Luscombe). DMC holds a special place in my heart forever. I would not be the same person without it.
