My high school experience at DePaul College Prep. was not all bad to say the least. Being one of the few non-white students did have its strengths and weaknesses.I was bullied and harassed frequently, however I was able to gain an amazing support system at DePaul. My college career coach (whom also was my cross-country coach) was AMAZING. I believe once the school's name was changed in the beginning of my Junior year, the school definitely shifted. The rules were much more strict, the staff was entirely different (and I sadly had to watch some of my favorite teachers leave),it seemed as if I was going to a completely different school. However, I can definitely say that being the last class of Gordon Tech did have its perks! I believe that this is what brought my graduating class closer together.

Depaul college prep is a wonderful school. Every teacher and faculty member makes it their mission to help you with anything you may need. The teachers are nice but there are of course a few special teachers that are honest and real with the students, and those are my favorite. There are always counselors around if you need help with college or just feeling stressed and need to talk. If you need help with homework or just understanding the subject better, there are programs such as our EDGE program to help. It’s a smaller school compared to most public schools but its growing. There will be a new campus with whole new facilities next year. The student at Depaul prep are very kind and active in the school. There are many different clubs for everyone if you need somewhere to learn more or just share an interest in something. Depaul Prep is diverse, safe, and has everything you need to succeed.
I feel very welcomed as a new student and the teachers do an excellent job of involving the students in not only their classes but other on-campus activities that help students meet each other and network. Each major is unique and the campus has multiple resources to assist students in the future of their career. The campus is in Chicago, and the school takes advantage of that, making the city another classroom, which gets students to experience real-life.
