I liked the diversity in my school and the many opportunities I had to learn about other cultures and types of people. I also loved that my high school offered CITS classes. These were a great opportunity to earn some free college credit, which has been a huge help! One thing I would love to see change is the class sizes. Class sizes seemed to get larger and larger as I got older, which made it harder to learn.
I love the culture at Denfeld; our class feels like a family and everyone respects everyone else. The school spirit is awesome and I love how we have many school traditions. I really love the building because it is old and has history rather than feeling like an average cookie cutter industrial school. The teachers are all very friendly and care about the students. The only downside I would say is that you can’t always take the classes you want to take, but that is a district problem. I love going here!
Denfeld has great diversity and supportive staff, and I was able to achieve the goals I had set. The varying levels of achievement I believe are a problem, and there is a large learning gap that occurs between the honors classes and the general classes, and some teachers do help to encourage that problem, and don't push the generals kids towards the generals classes. The clubs and activities are plentiful, and the scholarship money is astounding. Denfeld did a goof job of making me aware of the opportunities there were, but I do believe there is some racial bias and categorizing of students that can be detrimental to success.
