Delcambre High School Reviews
Rating 3.73 out of 5 37 reviews
Throughout my 4 years of high school, there were absolutely times where there were skewed priorities. One such instance was when teachers would put more emphasis on dress coding students with nose rings instead of dealing with the active bullying that was taking place even in the classrooms as the teacher was trying to teach. However, i did have some good experiences with teachers that genuinely did hold my attention and made me wish to continue to learn about the subject at hand. Al and all, i would say that my experience at Delcambre was very mixed with no factor making me weigh further towards bad or good.
By attending this prestigious school, I've advanced both academically and in ways that cannot be taught in school, but rather as a community. I have been in honors courses for all of high school and excelled in these courses and participated in softball, cross country, and the National Beta Club. It has taught me nonscholastic principles as well that include helping those around me whenever they may need assistance. My siblings also graduated from this place, and it has helped mold us and set the groundwork for who we are to become. I hope to serve this school and community well by proving to everyone that even if you come from a small town school of little possibilities, you can achieve great things. Financially this may be a challenge coming from a family of many people who try to provide the essentials of life, and sadly that may not include college tuition and fees. I will go on to do great things, advance my learning further, and make a difference in Delcambre High.
At my time in the institution I've succeed in the honors program. Which has helped me to become responsible and goal-determined. However, teachers at times lack in their skills to teach students proper material. Also, counselors lack in providing students with information about college readiness, scholarships, and options for all students and their backgrounds. Delcambre offers amazing clubs like Future Business Leaders of America and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America which offered me with amazing opportunities. For example, I represented my chapter of FBLA in Impromptu Speaking and won first place in district and had the chance to participate and represent my chapter in State Convention. Also, Track and Field (Outdoor) and Cross Country offered opportunities which helped me grow and better myself as an athlete. Delcambre has many traditions that involves parents, students, and faculty.
