DeLand high school offers a variety of programs you can join. It's really great because many of the students here are interested in things like, communications, engineering, and taking college prep/ college level courses. All these academies and classes are offered here! In my experience, the teachers and staff have all be good and helpful when you need them.

DeLand High is in need of a clean up and some stronger academic programs. While they offer the IB Program, it's weak in its offerings and could be made stronger. DeLand does have a very good system of supportive teachers with the exception of only a few. Clubs are never in disparity and neither are AP classes for the most part. The students of DeLand are either very invested in their education or very passive about it, and either way DeLand ensures everyone succeeds!
I went through the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and experienced a rigorous curriculum that has prepared me for college. This difficulty of this program was made easier by great teachers dedicated to teaching, counselors involved in helping me, and a school environment that promoted community. There are dozens of clubs and sports for everyone's interest and they are actively encouraged by the school's administration. School spirit is everywhere and involves the entire town in the festivities of Spirit week, Club Olympics, and more. There are the normal problems of every public school - some areas lacking funding, trash, occasional fights - however the staff is committed to fixing these problems and improving your experience at every turn.
