Del Norte High school had a lot of issues they needed to address. Besides the fact that a majority of the faculty were leaving due to poor pay and a bad school culture, the students themselves were either jocks or outcasts. They had many good ideas to implement for students but failed to take many of them off the ground due to politics and giving in to parent demands too easily. Though I personally enjoyed Cross Country and Knowledge bowl, many other activities didn't interest me as they would either not last long, or had to many different teachers taking over as the last one was either fired or left for better employment.
As a student a Del Norte High School, I experienced a great school environment. Teachers taught engaging lessons. Whenever I had a goal, it was never, "That is unattainable", it was, "What can we do to help you meet that goal".
The overall experience at DNHS is excellent. There are varieties of clubs and activities to do after school. Everyone is involved in sports and if you aren’t there are different opportunities to get involved. The staff and teachers are friendly. They try to help you succeed. Overall it is a good experience.
