Deep Creek High School for me was an experience. I’m the class of 2019 and we have been through all the changes that they wanted to make or even just tryout. Freshman and Sophomore year for sure were my easiest years, they weren’t strict really you could do almost anything! Then came my junior year they wanted to start changing rules due to the upcoming freshman wanting to be more risky. The school decided to punish everyone with the strict dress code and rules. It use to be a privilege for seniors to opt out of the final exam for a class but now any grade can based off of absants and grade in the class. As seniors i believed that we worked our butts off for the last three years that we could get a break on our senior year exams because we have other things to worry about such as colleges, scholarships, and just keeping up in school.

I have loved my time at Deep Creek, and I'm proud to say I am a Hornet. The students and staff are a diverse group of interesting characters, so there is definitely at least one other person you can click with. Our staff is helpful and welcoming. The marching band is fantastic! I will forever cherish the memories made in high school. Thank you Deep Creek for everything!
In Deep Creek there's a lot of diversity and a lot of opportunities to grow. Many of my teachers have contributed to helping me apply for scholarships and leadership programs. The school also just put in new security doors as another barrier on the inside in case of any safety threats. There's many clubs and activities, probably over 30 or 40. In contrast, there are some things that need to change. Our bathrooms need serious updating. Less than 30% of our bathroom stalls are completely working. By "completeing working", I'm referring to doors not closing/doors not having working locks, toilet paper holders not in place, or even there at all. Overall, Deep Creek isn't a bad school, but it still needs slight improvements.
