I've only been at De since junior year. I've been to catholic schools all my life so i decided to try another school which landed me at Hansberry College Prep, a Noble school. My grades were great but i didn't agree with the disciplinarian/cultural system so i decided to give De a chance. When i first started at De last year it was kind of a bad start, i wasn't able to play varsity volleyball due to me not training with them since freshman year. It was my junior year and that's the year to get noticed so that put me down. The most serious in the school would be football, basketball, and volleyball and all the other sports are just there. Besides athletics the academics are pretty good we use laptops so all our work is basically online, the school puts the students accountable for a lot. Overall if your involved and put all you time into the school you will be recognized more such as clubs or anything to raise money for the school.

The current experience at De La Salle Institute has shifted in a sense that I would like to be further involved in advanced course and available college courses in my early high school careers. I would prefer for students that exemplify themselves as being outstanding to have the opportunity to showcase that said knowledge in further advanced courses. In terms of the financial aid, I've had two other relatives attend before me yet my single mother of 4 still has to pay a full tuition. On a side note, the extra-curricular activities and sports have a very wide variety and are heavily funding. As for students who seek a school for the arts, music, and theatre, I recommend looking into a different institution. De La Salle holds true to most tradition as I know from my older siblings, and it continues to pride itself on being one of the oldest institutions in the city of Chicago. As a student, I take into account the long history of being a De La Salle meteor.
De La Salle’s main priority were the students, making sure everyone is good! Also, the counselors stay on the students to make sure they are taking care of their business, especially if you are a junior or senior planning to go to college.
