This school is an excellent opportunity and I would recommend it to anybody. First, the staff is super friendly and very engaged and helpful in the classroom. Secondly, the support system on the Davidson County Community College campus is awesome, with its free tutoring both online and in-person for any college courses. Lastly, the most amazing part of going to this school is how much money it saves you in your academic career, since textbooks and courses are paid for by the school.

Davidson Early College High School as a whole is a very good school. The studies are rigorous and while they do require effort on the part of the student the staff readily supports those who seek help. There are a many resources available for those who look around and ask. In regards to the food there are many options and most of them are very good, and during lunch there are many different places to go to eat. There are a fairly wide variety of academic clubs but in regards to music and art it is rather lacking with only a few available at the college level. There are only a few sports at the college level, and no band, or theatre programs to speak of. However, the staff, facility, and education more than makes up for these shortcomings, and overall DECHS is a pretty excellent school.
The amount of freedom at DECHS is incredible. The teachers care about their students and students are somewhat guided through the college classes they're taking; but don't be fooled, your hand definitely isn't going to be held, you have to do most things on your own. DECHS isn't for everyone; there's no room for procrastinating, you have to be responsible and diligent. I believe DECHS has helped me prepare for college, but I would like to see a better safety system in place, because students are all over the place; you can't keep them confined like you can at a typical high school.
