I loved the teachers and the high school + college experience. Davidson Early College High School Prepared me for going on to pursue a high degree in college. I felt very prepared for life outside of school as well as for my college experience. During my time as a student in the Davidson Early College High School Program, I became involved in many ways on the college campus of Davidson County Community College, allowing for me to further develop my leadership, communication, and networking skills. At just 18, I was serving as a Student Ambassador on Campus giving tours and teaching orientations to new students, as well as serving as the President for the Tau Beta Chapter for Phi Theta Kappa, a nationally recognized two-year school honor society. I am a very proud alum of Davidson Early College High School! Such an amazing experience, and is highly recommended.
Rising senior here! The administration is a group of very cheerful people, who are there to assist you as much as they can. The amount of preparation that is undergone for college can come off as a bit overwhelming at times, but it does pay off. The location is great, and the building is pretty secure. Lastly, the academics are really good. Often times, many students will be studying for an upcoming class. There is a higher standard than traditional High Schools, but that is to be expected, due to the fact that we are one degree different.
I attend Davidson Early College High School in Lexington, NC. It has been a great opportunity for me. It has allowed me to obtain not only a high school diploma, but an Associate in Science degree. Financially, this has a major impact on me to be able to go to a four year university with credit for college courses. Because of this high school choice provided by my school system, I will have lower financial cost when I transfer to a four year university. I have grown intellectually and socially through this program. I am very grateful that Davidson County Schools has provided me with the opportunity to attend high school at the Early College. With the smaller class sizes, I was able to get outstanding instruction in my academics. My teachers and administration at this high school are very supportive and are always willing to help whenever needed. My high school experience at the Early College through Davidson County Schools has provided me with great opportunities and success.
