Davidson Academy Reviews
Rating 4.04 out of 5 109 reviews
Davidson Academy offered an excellent education, with small class sizes that allowed for individual time for students and teachers. However, Davidson Academy is also religiously affiliated, and that led to some of the adults to feel as though they could say strange and often inappropriate things. Not only that, but money often ruled over everything else. Although the school is based in faith, wish the teachers would set limits to themselves of how often they discuss it. I also wish the administration would run themselves more on the best interest of all the students, not just the ones with better economic opportunities.
Davidson Academy is a difference maker. The building blocks for post-DA and even eternity are laid from the moment you step onto campus. Between weekly Chapel, prayer time in the classroom, classes dedicated to foundational biblical teaching, and the ability to serve others, Jesus is everywhere. I love that my child begins each day in worship. While it might be hard to explain, it isn’t hard to feel the immense love and community fostered within these walls. It’s truly a family that continues well after graduation. The faculty and staff at DA relentlessly pursue, challenge, and lead their students towards academic and personal success. My child is seen and known by the entire faculty and staff. She is being challenged daily with new and exciting ways of learning that I truly believe will help her succeed in today’s world. She isn’t just a test score or a GPA at DA. Her teachers take the time to ensure comprehension and make learning palatable to help her achieve true academic success.
I started Davidson Academy last year, after being homeschooled for four years. Although it came with a lot of trials, I grew to love the school and the people there. I struggle with anxiety and this school has never failed to make me feel welcome and safe at school. Anxiety has restricted my learning abilities but since last year I have learned a lot about myself and the things I can do while learning and while having fun and spending time with my friends. Being a senior is very bittersweet, but Davidson Academy has made my senior worthwhile and we have only been in school for a month. I thank God every day for leading me to Davidson Academy.
