I have really enjoyed my time at David Crockett High School, it has been an important part of shaping who I am today. The teachers at the school are very helpful and attentive to the students, they do everything they can to make sure that we succeed. All of my teachers have encouraged me to try my best and have been a great help when I struggled with any thing. Because of this, I have been able to keep a 3.9 Grade Point Average. The counselors at my school have done a wonderful job in making sure that everyone could succeed, whether it be providing advice, assisting in college prep, or simply lending an ear when someone is having a bad day. Overall, I have had a wonderful high school experience at David Crockett High School and look forward to what my future has in store for me.

Overall, I enjoyed my time at DCHS. Football games are fun, and the musket bowl is a blast, so take advantage of being able to sit in the student section (and cheap student tickets!) The school has an array of student organizations, and Career & Technical Education opportunities are phenomenal. Even if you do not plan to pursue a career in any of those fields, take advantage of the practical skills you learn in CTE. However when it comes to core classes, out of every class I have taken, I feel that I only truly learned anything in one of them. Many teachers simply do not care about learning and obsess over test scores. The counseling department is useless, and knew nothing about the college I plan to attend (which is one of the most well-known.) They never helped me find scholarships or grants. Senior class meetings are useless, and they only talk about ordering senior class t-shirts rather than career/college prep. Save your time and just go home early on those days.
All around, we have a pretty average school. Some chools are outstanding and teach effeciently while others have some cons of lack of communication. We do have a great athletics program though, which ahs unfortunately taken the attention away from deserving clubs. The school has helped me grow as a future professional.
