After going there for four years, Daniel Pearl has been such a good school when it comes to academics because of how small the school is so the class sizes are smaller whic means that you get more of a teachers attention for help. They do need to add a couple of more various clubs but other than that it’s great!

This school has a lot of ups and a little bit of downs. The school is great because it's such a small school so you get to know most of the people that got there. It also a good school because you get to interact more with the teachers and get involve. A lot of the staff members truly do care about the students. Every 2 weeks there is a fiesta Friday which is a get together of the whole school and we all have to go to the front of the school. Fiesta Friday includes music, sports, games and food. I think this is what makes Daniel Pearl Magnet High School so unique. One of the down sides to this school is that there are not a lot of classes in which students can take like AP classes. It such a small school so there are a lot of kids who want to get into the available AP classes which makes it even harder to get in because it's so competitive. Overall this school makes your high school experience seem great!
My experience was defined by the journalism program that is available here. I learned so much from my Newspaper and Yearbook advisor, Ms. Chavira. As now a first gen college student, she really pushed me to be able to see myself graduating from college in 2019. All the teachers I've had here have always wanted the best for the student. Since it is a school of just about 400 students, you get to know everyone well, this should be greatly appreciated, because you have teachers that not only remember your name years later, but you get to form great, personal relationships. I recommend DPMHS to anyone who wants to feel like they belong to something; it truly is a family.
