Some great teachers who care about students, smaller school so know everyone which could be a good or bad thing depending on how you feel, great football team that wins state championships, but other sports can feel a lack of attention because of this. Kind of cliquey social atmosphere and leaky roofs, cockroaches in the building! Offers many AP and vocational classes.

As many students would say, there were things that I very much enjoyed at this school, as well as some things I didn't like at all. If you know anything about DHS, you know that football is the center of all athletics here. I would easily say that sports are my favorite part of attending this school. I am an athlete myself and feel that the teams are very close knit and can easily get along with other sports groups. I would like to see some improvements made to the physical structure of the school. It seems that each year the classrooms seem to become more and more outdated and we constantly have leaks, floods, and bug issues within the school. But, overall, I have felt indifferent about the school itself. It's more about what you do to make your experience, yours.
Don't come to the hive and expect not to get stung. At Damascus, we take a lot of pride in our sports teams, specifically wrestling, and football as sports are our strong suit. As for academics, You will find that, on the whole, the Math department consists mostly of people who either don't care, can't teach, or should've retired 3 years ago. Most of the time its a combination of these qualities. However, The faculty in the Music, Science, English, and History departments more than make up for this shortcoming as most of the people in there take a high degree of pride in their work. this shows through their more than reasonable office hours, the bonds that the teachers form with their students, and the quality lessons and activities that the teachers give the class each and every day. While we may not be the most diverse and even though our food may be the worst, the school does an excellent job in prepping you to take the next step in your educational career.
