I am a current senior at Dakota Valley High School. There is a lot of things I like about DV. The facility is top notch and parent involvement in the school is high. The are wonderful and there are so many opportunities that most schools are size can’t provide. One thing I would like to see change in school is the culture. There are parts to our school culture that I like and don’t like. One thing I like about it is that students encourage each other to do well inside the classroom. One thing I don’t like about it is that it feels like the more of jerk you are the more popular you are, but I feel like that’s most high schools. Overall I think DVHS is a great school and I would totally recommend sending your kids here.
Dakota Valley High School overall is a good school. The teachers are great, building is very beautiful, and there are tons of resources. However, there is little diversity, and recent changes have made the school worse. Some teachers are not qualified or knowledgeable in their subject, and administration is very controlling. Also, the arts are always put below sports.
Students at Dakota Valley High School are all involved in a tight-knit community that always strives for bringing out the best in people. The teachers and staff greet students with a smile and kindness as they try to educate students not only about a specific academic subject, but also about being a leader, friend, and a kind person.
