Dakota High School’s facilities and sports are phenomenal. Great Academics as well! They could increase there culture and diversity a bit, but otherwise it is an amazing school to attend!
I have been a student at Dakota Jr/Sr High School for about 4 and 1/2 years now. Starting from 7th grade, I have worked hard to achieve success in school. I truly believe that my teachers pushed me to get there. I am currently a Junior enrolled in the High School and I am so thankful for my teachers and all they do for the students. My teachers want the students to learn. They aren't just trying to get the kids to "pass," they want them to leave the class having actually gained something. Not only do they support you in class, but they also support you outside of the classroom. Dakota's teachers are welcoming and helpful. Many times, I will go to a teacher for extra help, or just to talk. They truly care for their students and their well-being. Overall, Dakota Junior/Senior High School is an outstanding school that goes above and beyond for their students.
What I liked about Dakota Junior/Senior High School is that they began to prepare me for college early on. They gave me information and resources during the beginning of Freshman year, some of which included Xello, Niche, and Khan Academy. and they continued to help throughout the rest of my years there.
Also, they well-prepared me for the SAT with lots of SAT practice through Khan Academy; Although my SAT was delayed due to COVID, I am still proud of my score.
The best part about this school is that they have some amazing teachers. Many of them are great at their jobs; they know how to keep me focused and keep learning fun. They are always willing to help. My favorite teacher there is my spanish teacher, Señora Korwin.
Dakota offers a good variety of electives, but I believe that they could benefit from more after school clubs and activities.
note: I didn't rate the sports as I had never participated in any sports at Dakota.
