Dahlia Heights Elementary School Reviews
Rating 3 out of 5 2 reviews
Our son was in Dahlia Heights during COVID, for 1st grade. During that time, the teachers collaborated to make it a full and educational experience. They had live arts -- theater, music, dance, drawing. They traveled to different countries. They found creative ways to give one-on-one time with students. The teachers all showed love for their work. We're sad we had to leave the school (we moved!) because I'd love to see what live teaching is like there. This school has a big, big heart.
Unbelievable amounts of physical bullying were displayed, mainly from white kids beating up on minorities, with little to no consequences. The staff and administration take no responsibility for chaos in the classrooms and do not communicate with parents when asked for direct feedback on their child. Eyerolls are given when parents are asking the teacher for feedback on their child's overall performance at parent-teacher conferences. Our teacher had no answer for us when we asked what level our child was performing at (she told us she had no idea). Our experience with our teacher, a younger teacher in K, was that she was mostly concerned with promoting herself to advance her own career, and seemed to lack any connection or concern for the children.
