Yorkville Community Unit School District No. 115 Reviews
Overall the Yorkville Community School District is a great environment to grow educationally. The teachers are great and work well with each and every student. I personally feel like the curriculum is a bit repetitive meaning that in certain classes (history for example), some units are retaught every year. If I was to make a change it would be to make sure all curriculum is made interesting so that the students can relate, and make sure that new curriculum is being taught with no yearly repeats.
I liked that I felt safe and there were a variety of teachers and staff I felt comfortable with and was able to express myself towards if any issues came about. The environment itself could be more positive and the grading policy needs to be looked at and changed, based on the percentage of students GPA dropping. Overall a good school to attend.
Some of the teachers don't want to put in the effort to teach the class, which was upsetting. Students rely on good teachers, some of the classes are a waste of time. Teach kids things that they will really use once they are done with school so that they are not going into college or the work force without knowing anything. Have classes that will teach them something that they will remember instead of something they aren't paying attention to.
