York School Department Reviews

York High School could be considered your quintessential high school in a lovely New England town. The school fits into that mold nicely. That being said by no fault of their own they lack diversity which in turn can leave the process a little underwhelming. Students cannot live what they are taught due to the sterile surroundings. With more hands on teaching I think all would benefit. My child was able to treat her academics with as much enthusiasm as one would perhaps equate with a sports or extra curricular activity. I believe with more tangible teaching more students would engage themselves with the same vigor usually left for the more "fun" courses. Public schools are constantly bogged down with a fair amount of red tape. I would say that most teachers are able to put that aside and go the extra mile to produce for our kids. We as parents must remember its a team effort. To risk being cliche...its what you put into it that makes your experience unique.

Very cliquey. You stay with the same people all those years so it's very hard to make friends. Teachers favor the smartest and most popular kids.
