My experience with the York county school district was great. I am currently in college but I attended almost all of elementary school there, all of middle school, and high school there. The teachers were some of the best I have ever known. They are willing to help and love to get to know there students. I especially appreciated the teachers from the arts magnets of School of the Arts in Bruton. The teachers and staff at SOA are of the highest caliber and most genuine teachers you will ever meet. As we used to say they were Soamazing!

Bruton specifically is a very small school; everyone knows everyone. That aspect was very helpful for me to be able to reach out to those around me. I felt comfortable talking with my teachers about both school-related and unrelated topics. This district provided me with some of my closest friends, people I have been around my whole life. Being in a small school definitely had its disadvantages, but overall, it was beneficial in the long run.
I am very thankful I had the opportunity to go through the York County School Division. The county employees is committed to their students and their success. They have a great balance of sending students off to either learn a skill or off to college, since not everyone needs to go to college but with the mindset of doing well in high school before entering the work force. The school becomes more safe every time there is an incident which increases the safety of the school. I personally think the school building being 65 years old, in need of a remodel and an exterminator for cockroaches effected my learning but despite that, the school was great.
