I have lived in Wyoming county and been to pineville elementary, pineville middle, Mullen’s middle, and Wyoming county east high school. All of these schools have been very unsubstantial to my education. 85% of the teachers are not here for the students but for the paycheck they receive. Though there are a select few who earnestly want their students to succeed. The atmosphere towards the arts is horrendous; I, being a member of the theatre group for three years, have witnessed the way they behave towards anything that is not basketball or football. They place the few students who do participate in these activities on a metaphorical pedestal and treat them as if they are above the other students. This leads to a group of students who bully, and put down all other students. Their “0 tolerance policy is a joke. I was bullied from the time I started school up until this very year, they do absolutely nothing. My abhorrence for this school is substantial.

I believe Wyoming East is a good school. It just lacks in some areas such as diversity. I see that West Virginia, especially our region is not as diverse as some others, but it would be nice to host something like a foreign exchange program or something along the lines of that.
Wyoming county is a very tight nit community with high envolvement from the parents. Being a rural community the lack of teachers with specialized training in mathematics and science is limiting to student preparation.
