As a working parent of two students during the pandemic, I would have to say that Wyoming has done a tremendous job balancing safety for both students and staff along with maintaining excellent instruction for all students, whether in-person, remote or hybrid. We have always been impressed with the quality of the teachers our children have had in the classroom. This year they have all risen to the challenge and our students (3rd and 6th grade) have continued to learn and progress despite the plethora of challenges presented by the pandemic. The approach of educating the "whole child" is evidenced by the inclusion of the extraordinary arts and music programs within the curriculum. The community itself is a pleasant place to live and the neighborhoods are safe. We have been residents since 2014 and have no regrets with our decision to move here.
Wyoming City Schools is a great school district, and I'm glad that I went to school there. It has been a great experience.
While the education at Wyoming is great, there is often too much pressure to be perfect in the district. Additionally, the culture of the school is one of college or bust- other options after graduation are rarely talked about let alone encouraged.
