The teachers at Wyandotte Public Schools have been absolutely amazing for my entire experience in the school system! I am especially grateful for the music program. From my personal experience, I have been able to take classes above my grade level when the classes I was enrolled in were not challenging enough, but this did take some extra work from my end. If parent and student advocate for a more advanced class, the school will likely listen to that family's concerns, but the approach needs to be proactive from the student side of the issue.
The staff of this district is really what gives the heart and soul to this district, with the administration leaving a lot to be desired. Many of the teachers are phenomenal and inspirational and love nothing more than giving their all to there students. The music programs are well organized and inclusive and all around an awesome collective team. Same can be said for all the art departments and shop departments at the high school. However, the issues with this school district lie heavily in the leaders of these schools, as the administration lacks crucial communication to deal with social issues in an appropriate and efficient matter.
During my student life, I've been to quite a few schools and I can say with confident that the schools in Wyandotte Michigan is by far the best. I attended both Roosevelt and Wilson and in both of these school, the teachers were very nice and helpful. I'm someone who doesn't have much confidence in himself, but the staff there are willing to push you and help better yourself. The classes that they have are classes I haven't seen in any of the other schools I been to. The one that stood out to me the most would have to be the video production class because it one of the career I intend to pursue in the future. The students there are also very nice and welcoming, I didn't feel out of place when I first enrolled and in fact, the students were very helpful towards me and didn't ignore me at all. I think that this school district is a great choice to choose to enroll into and i'm sure you'll experience the same welcome feelings I felt.
