Winfield R-IV School District Reviews
A small school in a small town with a mixture of problems and promises. Like all schools, there were teachers who should never have been behind a desk. Yet there were many who were over-qualified. My science teacher taught at Washington State University on the side. My English/Lit teacher had a few degrees under her belt. The librarian was my Writing teacher for my Freshman year. She made writing fun and encouraged many of my friends to write for our own enjoyment. My Gym teacher hosted an hour-long class where he didn't care what we did - so long as we kept moving. We could walk laps around the gym, play any of the sports we had the equipment for, or bust out a TV to partake in exercise videos. He said he always had a packed class every semester because the students said it was a "blowoff class" but for that hour, those students never stopped moving and never stopped exercising.
The teachers are great, but I would have to say I wish there were more variety in what sports that are offered.
My belief is that high school is what you make it. I have excelled in my education and feel prepared to begin my college career.
