My experience with Wilkes County schools was good! Very friendly teachers and other staff. Although I must say, I wish I would have learned more academically. I did have some of the teachers were not 100 percent worried about teaching the subjects, as they were to impress the students by making them laugh. I believe if we would have had more strict and educated teachers, I would have learned more.

I have been in the Wilkes Country Schools system my entire life and I have overall loved it! I would say that they could do a lot better job at hiring teachers. A teacher is more influential than they get credit for, and if the teacher is a bad one, the student will lose all drive. Teachers are definitely the number one thing Wilkes needs to work on. Other than that, I would never want to go anywhere besides a Wilkes County School!
In concern with my time with the Wilkes County Schools District, there are more problems I think than there are things that are quite nice. For one, the academics system and the staff of teachers is very excellent and well-driven. However, the facilities, food, and funding for certain programs is absolutely atrocious. In fact, the Fine Arts Department is so under-funded that it is nearly illegal in my opinion.
