The Wilkes Barre area school district is one of a kind! The students are driven by sports and other school-related activities. There is so much diversity, I would personally rate us the top 10 most diverse schools in the area! The teachers are very supportive and helpful. Believe it or not, most of the students even get along with our principal. I've stayed at the same school for my entire high school career, and I am so glad I did. Bullying is very rare at my school, only enough everyone seems to like each other, or at least tolerate one another. With each of us getting along our school does great!

My experience at Wilkes-Barre Area School District was a different highschool experience rather than normal. During my freshman year our school was starting to fall apart. Upcoming my sophmore year, the upper classmen and lower classmen were separated in different buildings because they had to tear the one side of the school down. The whole highschool experience was not the same getting the fear of the upper classme put in us. I loved the school spirit and how much we loved our district even in the conditions we were in. I would not change a thing because highschool taught me about more than school but life lessons that i will carry on with me for the rest of my life
The Wilkes barre area school district is a hot mess. They are currently trying to combine 3 high schools into one. The tax base is shrinking as families are moving to better areas with better more organized schools. The school board wasted millions of taxpayer money to begin renovation on an old High school and then decided to scrap that project entirely in favor of building a new school. The tax payers are paying high taxes the schools are falling apart and the administration teachers and employees of the district are reaping the benefits.
