Wichita Falls High School is very ethnically diverse, with many diffrent economic backgrounds as well. In my four years as a transfer student I’ve made so many different friends who all support each other and myself. Though there are nearly 350 students per grade, it has a small feeling atmosphere. Once a ‘yote, always a ‘yote!

I liked the fact that I had very good honors and AP teachers. I also liked the fact that there were several honors and AP classes to choose from. I Despite the poor facilities ( my school was built in 1918), the teachers, for the most part, are dedicated and provide a good foundational education. We desperately need one or two new schools. The facilities are terrible and just cannot justify the maintenance. The teachers need raises in order to keep the talent in the district. I think the school district could do a better job promoting bond elections for new schools. That needs to be the top priority.
I had an overall exceptional experience with WFISD. I had many teachers that I continue to thank for furthering my education. Some of them even went above and beyond to help me achieve my goals by tutoring me and proofreading essays to prepare for college! The only poor experience that I had with this ISD was the cutting of funds for fine arts and mostly focusing on athletics. While exercise and sports are important in a child's development, I believe the time you get to be creative is as well.
