Whitewright Independent School District Reviews
The experience is great! I moved to Whitewright and got to fit in right in and they treated me not only as a student but as if we were one big family, they treated me as if I went to their school all of my life. So I fit right in and was extremely comfortable.
Small school in a small town. Wonderful staff and the administration is excellent! Not the same opportunities of a large school, but students are able to be involved in more activities as opposed to focusing on just one or two as you see in the larger districts.
When my class arrived to high school, our principal was very lenient about most things. But then he retired, and a new principal, Mr. Weaver, arrived. Unfortunately, two months into my sophomore year, Mr. Weaver had a cancer relapse. He was absent from the school for the better part of two years, and passed away 2 weeks before my junior year ended. Despite this tragedy, Whitewright is a good school. But I believe that we, as students, should be trusted more by our administration. We have most of our fun harmless ideas shot down by our superintendent. For example, painting parking spaces is "unprofessional". But, while our elementary and middle school share the same cafeteria, we're that small, our dedicated teacher's have made coming to school and learning fun and I look forward to being an Alumni of WHS.
