We moved to the Westonka schools from an outstanding school district in Dublin, Ohio in November of 2020. Moving during a pandemic and a time when school was both remote and hybrid posed many challenges for our 5th and 7th grader. Never in a million years would I have thought that a principal and the guidance counselors at Grandview Middle School would take that much time, effort and care for our daughters to adjust to their new surroundings. Then to top it off, the teachers go above and beyond their job to provide a wonderful learning experience. Anytime you move as a family, you always ask yourself in the back of your mind, "did we make the right decision?" Moving the to the Mound Westonka School District solidified our answer with a resounding YES! Westonka lives and breathes their motto of Small School Advantages. Big School Opportunities. Real-Life Success Stories.™ Parents of two daughters, one introvert and one extrovert. Both are involved in activities and sports.
Westonka is a school centered around caring teachers/staff and hard working students. Teachers here are always striving to make their students the best they can be. I truly believe each teacher genuinely cares for each student. My personal experience was that it is a small enough school that you know everybody and you are able to make friends easily. Since you are sharing multiple classes with the same people everyday, bonds become tight by the end of the year. Not only this, but Westonka offers unique activities for all types of people to participate in. The atmosphere at sporting events is incredible from football games in the fall to the basketball games into the early spring. This school offers fun activities such as Homecoming. The atmosphere of small school spirit can’t be underestimated here. It is exciting to see everybody enjoying Homecoming week and celebrating school pride. Overall, this school offers a lot of opportunities to all students to become someone great.
How many elementary schools have a principal that knows everyone by name, well Shirley hills does, seriously underrated school district
