Excellent school with challenging curriculum, immensely involved staff, and exceptional facilities (track and swimming pool, along with a plethora of sports fields). The school provides access to newspapers and databases, and conveniently has a late bus service. Every teacher seems committed to their designated subject and willing to aid students in any way possible. Though the school is challenging overall, this fosters an environment wherein students are supportive and accepting. Though most are driven, to an intimidating extent, by success, there lies uniqueness of character and perspective in every mind. There are, however, some drawbacks. The food at Weston is far from nourishing or commendable, and the administration has imposed an irrational set of regulations regarding tardiness, free periods, and the like. I also feel that teachers within a given class (say it’s Honors 9th grade world history) should not have entirely different curriculums. But overall, great school!
Weston Middle School just received a National Blue Ribbon School Award. It recognizes what we've experienced as parents for our daughter at the school: committed, experienced teachers; administrators focused on prioritized improvements; students committed to academic excellence while also accepting of differences; engaged parents; and beautiful school settings. The METCO program and the international provenance of many families contribute to the diversity of the student body. We're delighted to be part of this school community.
Weston Public Schools have good academics overall. Students are pushed to do their best, although sometimes they may be pushed too far as there is a toxic atmosphere surrounding grades, class levels, and college applications. The science department could be better but the English department is excellent. As Weston is one of the wealthier towns, there is quite a but of entitlement that runs deep through the students, parents, and even some of the teachers, but thats not to say there aren't kind and genuine people.
