As a current senior at Westhill High School, I have seen it all. Despite the lack of diversity (primarily students who are white and middle class), the school makes its best effort to encourage acceptance whether it be through the LGBT+ Alliance group or our participation in the Positivity Project.
Cafeteria food is overpriced for the quality. The buildings are under renovation, so it is difficult for students and teachers. The construction has since come to a halt with only the third floor (which is AMAZING) being redone.
The Music Department is where it's at. High quality music faculty, not to mention the instrumental side is one of the best in the state. Over half the students are involved in the Music Department in some capacity. There are many opportunities for involvement for students ranging from JV/Varsity athletics all the way to musical theater, Academic Decathlon and Mock Trial.
Overall, a great school to attend.

I like Westhill because of the small community feel. I get to know everyone in my class, which helps me feel more safe and secure in the school. I also know most teachers, which allows me to build connections with them with helps me to advance my education since the teachers can help me if needed. We have an after-school period called IA (Individual Assistance) so I can go into any teacher's classroom after school to ask for help reviewing for a test, help on material I do not understand, or just to stay after school.
Westhill Central School District excelled in preparing its students academically for the college world. IT is easier for me to understand the important aspects of my classes thanks to the way I was taught in their programs. One thing I would like to have seen is more diversity in the school. Generally, it was one group of people who enjoyed the same interests, so there was very little opportunity for one to learn about other traditions and practices.
