I had an overall great experience with Westerly Public Schools. However, if I could see one thing change it would be teacher involvement. I was fortunate enough to grow extremely close with some of my teachers throughout my years at school. Unfortunately, not everyone had this opportunity. I firmly believe that teacher involvement is a very important factor in a student's academic career. I personally excelled in classes in which my teacher was involved with not only my work, but also with my well-being. Teachers who care for their students individually and not just their grades truly impact their students learning experiences in a positive way.

Middle school is unwilling to work with disabilities that forces teachers to pay attention to students with an I.E.P. The middle school has refused to inform parents of any homework.
Students that are literally afraid to turn in homework even if completed are ignored.
It is so bad that the resource teachers whom are there to advocate for these students will illustrate your failure as a parent by chastising how you deal with homework.
At westerly I've received education I can carry throughout my life. The people there have been great and the education Ive revived has been adequate. All of the teachers are very friendly and want to see you succeed. Mathematics and Civics departments are lacking while the science, technology and english departments excel. Facilities are not the best the school is not very well kept. Paint is chipping all over the place and there are no records to tell if it is lead free or not. A safety issue for sure. Nonetheless, I give my experience a 3/5.
