It is quite a good school and district. I have had no significant issues and have enjoyed my time as much as any senior can. Its plagued by the same issues that any high school suffers but even they have been reduced. Bullying was never really present, the food was the same that you´d expect from a medium income school district, and though not all teachers are perfect there are a lot of great ones. I would recommend this district to anyone in the area as a safe and fairly well organized institution.

I loved the diversity of the school, which gave me so many opportunities to learn about different cultures from my friends. I also was so blessed to have so many chances to take AP level courses, and have a curriculum that challenged me and helped me prepare for college. I would not be as successful as I am today without the help of my teachers at West Ottawa high school. I would have liked to see more extracurriculars, that would have helped me make more friends, and get more experience outside of school work. There were always so many athletic teams to join, but no other clubs that would have nurtured my growing identity.
West Ottawa High School is the greatest place for students to go. It encourages a safe atmosphere and the staff is really encouraging and friendly to the students. The school has a lot of great opportunities like the IB Diploma, tons of Advanced Placement courses, and the Tech Center, just to name a few of them. Their music programs are one of the best in the state along with their athletics. This is a really great school and I would suggest going here if it is possible.
