West Orange-Cove Consolidated Independent School District Reviews
Orange, Texas is a small town with a rich history for its size. Deep within the heart of Orange lies my alma mater, West Orange-Stark Highschool. We are known for being the most winning highschool football franchise in Texas history, boasting multiple state Finals Championships and appearances. This is the by-product of a cohesive staff and faculty that reaches above and beyond to assist its current, former, and future students. Outside of a decorated football background, West Orange is also a large staple in community. It partners with local businesses and institutions to ensure students receive a proper opportunities to learn outside of the classroom while also giving a glimpse of what life after highschool can potentially provide. During my tenure, I was put in the position grow academically and learn more about the person I would become today. For this, I can do nothing but show grace and appreciation for the first place to ever grant me a diploma.
West Orange has opened so many new doors for me and my fellow classmates. They provide different career classes for students who want to become nurses, graphic designers, welders etc. They had gave me the opportunity to begin my career by taking nursing classes in my sophomore year and also giving me a class to help me find the college that best fits for me and also the career path.
I have attended school at West Orange Cove Consolidated Independent School District all the years that I have attended school. The education at WOS is average but I can say that it does not prepare you for college well. I feel as if the teachers are too lenient and do not push us hard enough to work as hard as we should for our grades. As a student at WOS, if you want to stand out you MUST go above and beyond. With that being said, WOS is just like any average school; it’s not the best and not the worst. If you attend school there it is up to you to determine your experience there.
