If you want a top quality education for your kids, this is the place to go. Very high number of students who went on to further their education. The staff not only has a very large knowledge base and are highly qualified, but they truly care about their students. My kids have loved every teacher they've had and can't pick a favorite! My family is proud to call themselves West Elk Patriots!

I like how involved that you are able to put if you put yourself out there. You are strongly encouraged to get involved, but not forced. Throughout each and every year, parents, teachers, faculty, and staff encourage and help everyone to succeed to their fullest capability.
Within West Elk, the only thing that I would like to see change in maybe the environment. There are just some days that most of us fully dread going there, then again, that could just be the sake of school.
West Elk has many, many opportunities to become involved in an activity during your high school years, everything from Scholar's Bowl to sports teams like softball, football, and cheerleading. West Elk has a dedicated and friendly staff that are able to work one-on-one with you if needed.
