West Des Moines Community School District Reviews
The school district is great! They have various activities that range from elementary to high school that keep the students engaged in their school community. Having teachers who go above and beyond also helps keep students motivated and wanting to learn. My experience here was fantastic and it really prepared me for college. I’m excited my younger siblings get to experience school the way I did in the West Des Moines School District. Although having a snow day wvery once in a while wouldn’t hurt.
Being a student who has grown up going through the West Des Moines Public School system, I can proudly say that I attend some of the best schools in the State of Iowa. Staff and faculty members genuinely care about the well-being of their students and want to see them succeed!
Teachers are willing to work with students. It's a one to one school so every student gets a laptop (starting at 3rd grade). Sports, clubs, and other activities are encouraged throughout the school district. Also, the district is changing grading policy and adding new AP/advanced classes next year. Parking spaces for students at the highschool level are limited. There's a separate building for freshman. Valley high school also offers numerous classes for DMACC/college credit.
