As a senior in the West Des Moines Community School District I believe the I am well prepared fro my college experience. The classroom opportunities at the high school level can get very specialized, such as business, accounting, automotive tech, engineering, and etc. I personally have taken advantage of the several of the engineering courses offered at Valley. In my middle school years, Stilwell required that all seventh graders take art, consumer education, cooking and sewing, and a woodworking class, one per quarter, to sprout new interests in the young adults. I enjoyed taking these classes very much.

In conclusion, I have had a wonderful experience the West Des Moines Community School District.

I have really enjoyed going to school in the West Des Moines Community School District because they provide multiple opportunities to get involved. They make it possible to get involved in multiple activities while still staying caught up in your academics and encourage students to participate in school activities. I spent the past four years in the band program at our school and was involved in several of their ensembles while also trying out some groups in the drama department. It was a lot to handle sometimes, but I was able to participate and get the most out of my high school experience while staying up to speed in all my academics. Due to this I had a highly positive experience in the WDMCS District.
West Des Moines schools offer a large variety of diverse classes and opportunities for students. The school district is one of the largest in Iowa so offers things that may not be available in smaller school districts. The facilities at the High School are being updated consistently. Most recently, a new $4.8M Track and a beautiful Performing Arts Center were built along with improvements to the main school building and stadium. The staff is high quality and very willing to help make students successful. Most sports are no-cut so many have the opportunity to participate at some level. Overall, we specifically chose this school district when moving here and have been very happy with our childrens' experiences.
