I like WCCUSD diversity. I feel accepted and meet/ know people who look just like and have similarly interests. Additionally, we have very hands on teachers who are always trying to engage their students and keep their classes fun and engaging. The sports facilities are amazing and have been remodeled every few years. Like right now at my school, Pinole Valley High, they’re constructing née outside basketball courts for the school. I love my school and district and think this community is really amazing and accepting of everyone it. The only harsh thing I can say is they could definitely improve their food selections choices for lunch, but besides that I truly do believe that I go to school in a beautiful community with really great people!
West Contra Costa school have had a lot of different opportunities for their students. Like the courses for they're academies especially at my school De Anza High School that has the dull enrollment with Contra Costa Community College. Also the amount of different academies that each high school has some have more than others or even different ones. Like DA there is 4 academies which are Health, JROTC, Tech and Law. Richmond High School has Law, Multi Media, Health, Epa, International. It's also not just the academic side that makes it a great district its also extracurricular activates like sports and clubs that each school in this district has to offer. As well as the diversity that each school brings. There are students from all over the world that I've met from a lot of these schools. (brazilin, chinese, japanese, Jamaican, Argentinian, and soooo many more)
Although the campus may appear nice, I have never felt safe on campus. The communities have either been very inclusive, or very dangerous. I have been a part of a few communities at my school, such as the QSA, ASU, and other community service-based communities, and all of the people I have met were extremely kind. However, I have experienced many school shootings or rumors about a weapon on campus that has lead my school to go on multiple lockdowns. The faculty and administration at my school poorly communicate to students about the newly enforced rules, causing students to be upset and feel unheard when none of our "Why?" questions are answered.
