I like that the school district is very diversity and the teachers are very helpful. There some things to improve on which is we need to update on text books and have a some building to be updated.
It is a district that cares very much about college and career readiness but also does really care about there student. The staff definitely are here because they care for the students.
They suck. There are elementary kids, in third grade, vaping in bathrooms. High schoolers were getting in to fights all the time. There have been numerous times where police were called in one year.
In the amdidst of the current pandemic, the WAWM school district is performing averagely. It was decied that we were going to use a new program this year that majority of the people did not know how to use. A lot of our staff is new, meaning we lost some of our best teachers. Although, our district is making its best efforts, it just isn't enough for what I need as a student.
I very much enjoy the importance of the arts in this district, and all of the teachers in the arts I have known have been amazing. It's more the issue of having resources for everyone that I have a problem with. Helping the teachers be prepared and doing everything to make sure kids have plans and ways to achieve them would be a great thing that we currently lack.
There was nothing to like about this school. No memories were made with either teachers nor peers. The education provided was no adequate and did not at all prepare me for college.
We did open enrollment into this district. We were overall satisfied. It has excellent music, average sports, great dance team. I have once child that did amazing at the state university and graduated with honors . I have another child just finishing high school so we shall see how they do attending a private university.
The teachers are alright. However the school does not do enough to prepare students nor help students to be held accountable for doing their work nor challenging the students to achieve more or do better.
What I like about the West Allis-West Milwaukee school district, is that it’s like a family. We stick together, through hard and good times no matter what everyone is always there for each other.
I loved everything about west Allis central . I learned so much in the short amount of time I was there . The teachers were great and always made me feel loved and important. Anytime I needed help I knew there was always someone in my corner to help me. West Allis central was very diverse . I was college ready and never felt left out.
Teachers have been great they the years. My son was always engaged in class. The staff cares about the safety and well being of the students. They do a nice job sending messages out to families on upcoming events and any area of concerns. Area of improvement, cashing checks timely for school fees and athletics. Engaging and recruiting of students for sports. Seems a lot of kids go on to play for select teams and not the district. There would be much more school pride for all !
The district has some faults: they don’t focus on getting the lower ranking students up, food quality is questionable at best, and the buildings aren’t great. But while the lower ranks suffer, the higher ranking students excel, and the staff care for the students.
Great school! Solid academics. Investment in buildings and hiring more teachers would be great. I think that is likely true of most high schools.
the schools were under staffed and there was not enough money for supplies or appropriate tools to aid the students in learning. They also struggled with preparing students for college
Horrible place to send your children. I had two children go to this school district and both of them hated it. They said teachers don’t actually teach, some teachers pick on random kids for no reason, and when they asked for help with their academics, they were told to refer to their electronic devices for help. What’s the point of even having teachers there?
The teachers at all the schools are super supportive! They want to see us all succeed and help us reach our goals. I'd like to see the admin be better at stopping all the drama in the middle and high schools, but they really are trying.
As a student in WAWM, I don't feel like I am prepared for college. Not enough is done for the students, the teachers keeping cycling out, the counselors don't seem to care, and I don't feel safe. The buildings are falling apart, and money is spent in the wrong places. The sports teams aren't all that great, but they get all of the money, while the arts suffer. I don't recommend this district for public education.
