This year I really loved how considerate all my teachers were of communication difficulties and teaching barriers over zoom. I went back in person beginning of fourth term and had some issues transitioning back into “normal” school. I was more tired out at the end of the day and had less energy to do the things I loved, resulting in me resenting school and homework. Slowly I was able to work in reading time and crafting time, two things that made me very happy. I told some of my teachers about this and they 100% agreed that balance was necessary to a student’s life, and said that if I needed to take a break for whatever reason during class all I had to do was ask. I loved my junior year, and wouldn’t change anything about it.
I loved Wayzata! It prepared me so well for college and made me feel at home throughout my schooling there. All of the staff were very very helpful with whatever I needed or was struggling with. Everyone in the district was there because they wanted to and knew how amazing the district was. There are also sooooo many different clubs and activities that you can get involved with at Wayzata, everyone has their own place no matter what they like to do.
My experience at Wayzata Schools has been very good. I was able to make numerous amounts of friends. I also had the opportunity to take a Band class; I was able to learn how to play a little over 13 instruments. I was elected President of the Student Council, and was able to show my leadership skills with planning different events. I have had an overall great experience, and learned how to manage my time.
Something that I would recommend for the Wayzata Schools’ to teach could be to develop a better culture. I remember in my experience in Colorado, my Elementary School, “REMS,” did an exceptional job at teaching the importance of unity and inclusiveness toward others.
Wayzata Schools are overall great.
