Overall I had an average maybe slightly above experience. Although the academics at Wayne are pretty good for the size of the school I do wish there were more AP classes available. Additionally, Wayne is an IB school but for my grade, they nixed it with several different excuses as to why. However, it was continued at other schools and available to the now Juniors at Wayne. There are many good teachers at Wayne who know their stuff and genuinely care about the students. I have made many good, long-lasting relationships with some of my teachers and I know they have my back. They would also make significantly better administrators than the current ones. The current administration at Wayne is not well liked especially by students, as they don't take the right approach to situations. This could be because they are new in their roles but that shouldn't be an excuse. Administration has drastically changed the last few years and not all of those chosen are a good fit for the career.
My experience at Wayne has been great! The staff and administration are very cooperative and respectful to students and to other fellow staff. Our sports program is one of the best in the county. I play on the women's volleyball team and last year we won our league and sectionals. We plan and hope to do the same this year! Our football team won against our rivals Pal-Mac 48-0! Everyone at Wayne is invested in sports. One thing I would change about my school is to have a study block period everyday last block. This period was where everyone in the whole school, teachers and students, all had a study block and you would be able to go to a whatever teacher you needed help from. This was very beneficial to students. We did not have to find extra time to meet with a teacher and I got better grades by getting my homework done in that amount off time. Thank you for reading my experience story.
I am going into my Junior year at Wayne and couldn’t love it more. I’ve gone to this district my entire life and love everything about it. The people are extremely friendly, the teachers are very very caring. Administration has problems here and there but nothing more than a regular school has. I’ve always felt safe, loved, and like I had someone to talk too. Wayne also has a variety of opportunities whether it’s athletics, academics, or the arts. It has one of the best music programs in the state, as well as a very high graduation rate. I couldn’t put in words how much I enjoy this school. Mrs. Wing, Mr. Wheaton, and Mrs. Perconti are among some of the best people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Wayne Eagles are amazing, and I love being a student here.
