Waverly Central School District Reviews
I love this school because of its small town community feel. Teachers know their students and we know our teachers. everyone for the most part knows everyone. Sports are so much fun, you don't need to be the best to do a sport here. There are so many clubs and after school activities to get involved in. I feel at home here. I know everyone in my graduating class and their families. Academics are good and teachers are understanding that most students are involved in more than one after school activity. The sports facilities are all beautiful. The football stadium in newly redone with turf and new seating, the track is newly redone with almost all brand new equipment, the high school gymnasium is in great shape, great pool, and we have a brand new weight room. Many different food options daily and options for if you do not want what is served that day.
I enjoyed the sports and club opportunities available at Waverly. The advanced or honors classes available were lacking. There was only 1 AP class offered: AP Chemistry. The faculty was nice, but lacked motivation to put in extra effort.
Waverly High School was an average place to attend. We had good teachers and bad teachers. Some cared more than others. I would to see more clubs added to the school, allowing all kids to be involved in something other than sports. Waverly favored some kids over others and it was easy to tell which ones got the special treatment. I would like to see that change as well. Waverly also needs to work on their no bullying policy, as kids are being treated poorly. Overall, Waverly was not an awful school to attend. It was safe and welcoming, but I would like to see some improvements in the school.
