The quality of each school in the district varies greatly. Facilities are pretty good at all of the schools, however the junior high is in need of more classrooms. I had multiple classes in my years there where we were not stationed in an actual classroom or were borrowing a classroom from another teacher for the whole year. Teachers across the board are generally very nice. Of course there are some exceptions. Science and English are this district’s best academic highlights. The history/Social sciences curriculum and overall management is lacking in the elementary school and in the high school. The high school offers many clubs and there is something for everyone to get involved with. For students who do not find themselves challenged enough academically, there are not too many opportunities until the high school level where SOME AP classes are available. Unfortunately with small class sizes the availability varies from year to year.

Great educational experience compared to other schools in the area. Despite headlines, and many changes within the school, most teachers are well educated, passionate, and provide an excellent education. I went into college feeling prepared for the standard of learning, but one thing that would've helped would be more college preparation. More discussion prior to senior year about college and one's options. And more in depth college searches before entering senior year and more education on how the application process works. Or what options one has outside of college. Nonetheless the Waterville Public School system provides a very good education.
I have had a very good experience at Waterville Senior High! They have a variety of offered classes ranging from Applied to AP so each and every student will be taught at the level that they desire. The staff and students here are very friendly and welcoming, and there is very little trouble regarding fights, drug use, etc. You can choose from a wide selection of activities and clubs to participate in, and if they do not have one that you are interested in, you can create your own! I am very glad I attended Waterville High.
