The Watertown School District is a district that is always striving to help the students gain the materials and knowledge needed in order to be successful in their lives. As a senior, I feel that the Watertown School District has correctly responded to certain situations to help me feel safe. Although I have never felt unsafe at school, we are in a time where unfortunately school shootings have become more common. If there was a change to be made at our school, it would be that we would have a buzz-in system to help prevent any outside dangers from entering our school. Other than that, I have loved being apart of Watertown and have really enjoyed my journey as a student because of the coaches, teachers, and other students.
My years at Watertown High School has overall been an amazing experience due to the new friendships, clubs, sporting activities, and the teachers. My school has incredible school spirit because so many kids participate in everything. I participated in track, book club, key club (service club), student council, volleyball, and band. The leaders of these activities were amazing and I made tons of new friends getting involved. Watertown High School has many ways to get involved and care about each and every student.
I used to go to a small christian school in town and it was always easy to talk to my teachers and other classmates because it was such a small environment. When I was I the christian school they always tried to help me the best they could because I Have ADHD. I had gone to the Christian school from 1st grade all the way through 8th. They had helped me the best they could and I thought that they were doing a good job. But I would never have that good of grades there. So when I got to 8th grade I was terrified because it was almost time for public school. I thought I was going to do terrible and I was so scared because I didn't really know anyone or the teachers and it was a way bigger place with way more kids. Once I got here the teachers were amazing they had a meeting with my parents and got me extra help that I had needed. they made school way easier for me and now I am doing very well in school and it is a lot easier to me then it used to be because I was always struggling.
