Waterford School District used to be an amazing place to learn. I am a product if Waterford school district as I attended pre-K all the way to Graduating high school.
Knudson elementary from K-5, was an amazing, loving, nurturing school that was focused on a comfortable class environment. Great teachers every year.
Crary middle school for 6-8 grade. Still amazing teachers that challenged me and my classmates each day. Outside of learning curriculum, the teachers taught and displayed good morals and integrity.
Waterford Mott High school 9-12 grade. This is where the more underprivileged kids went and where they worked hard all four years if high school striving for academic excellence to escape poverty and better themselves for the economic situations they found themselves in.

Not sure why everyone always bashes on Waterford. I went to waterford schools my entire life and am currently attending Michigan State University. I graduated with a 4.0 and was ranked in the 93 percentile of the entire country on my SAT. It doesn't matter about what the resources or the teachers are, it's about how you UTILIZE what you're given. If you are focused on studies and want to excel in school, you will have no problem doing so in Waterford schools with the outstanding teachers, schools, groups, clubs... To me, it seems as if the ones complaining about this district are the ones who never really tried their hardest in school, or maybe didn't join clubs or spend extra time after school studying with teachers.
Waterford School District has evolved from my first day of first grade until I walked the stage, diploma in hand. Many schools were forced to close due to lack of funding or perhaps misuse of funds. The teachers were always friendly and ready to help at a moments notice. A variety of the teaching staff had second jobs as well in order to stay financially stable, showing their drive and motivation. I did notice a frequent improvement in unimportant sports equipment (uniforms). Whether them being purchased with donor money or school funding is beyond me. Overall, Waterford School District is a safe community of schools that try their hardest with the resources they have.
