Wappingers Central School District Reviews
The greater Hudson Valley offers a wide variety of excellent schools if you are looking for a district that excels academically, athletically, and also in the arts, the WCSD is definitely for you. I currently attend John Jay Senior High school and previously attended Fishkill Elementary and Van Wyck Junior High. My experience so far has been excellent, highlighted with strong school spirit and excellent teachers. John Jay offers an unbeatable number of honors and AP courses, and the majority of teachers genuinely care for their students both academically and personally. The district is in a time of great expansion with updates to many of the school, specifically the cafe, gym, athletic fields, and exterior of both high schools. The WCSD is a great district to learn and grow up in.
Went to WCSD from K-12, and have had nothing but a great experience! From having great teachers, to making lifelong friends I have always enjoyed my time here. Now in my final year in High School, I can say I experienced many different clubs and have met so many diverse people because of the opportunities afforded to me from what my school can offer.
The WCSD has been in part of educating my family for more than 15 years. Both of my older siblings attended the same schools I did and I am pleased with my experience at becoming an alumni of John Jay Senior High School and graduating with an Advanced Regents Diploma. I am undoubtedly thankful for the opportunity my highschool gave me to pursue a bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics at Marist College. Since being graduated, a change I hoped to see was aniincreased safety and security within our school due to the high rates of gun violence in our schools and the rise of school shooters amongst different states. I have seen a significant improvement within my highschool and all schools of the district and cannot be more content with this much needed change. I'm very grateful to have graduated as a John Jay Patriot and continue forward towards the future.
