Rating 4.16 out of 5 25 reviews
Waconia is a great place to raise a family and the excellent public schools are a big reason why. The district is the perfect size where students have the same variety of clubs, teams, ensembles to choose from as larger schools, but more opportunities to participate with about 300 students per graduating class.
I like Waconia public schools because of the higher-level education available to students. Throughout my time attending the public high school, I have had the opportunity to take college level/prep courses through programs such as AP or C.I.S.
Not only are the academics exceptional, but also the welcoming environment is encouraging as well. The staff and teachers truly want what is best for students and are always there for support and advice.

Like any district, some things are wonderful and some not so much. The music program is amazing. Most of the staff goes above-and beyond. Food is terrific. We don't happen to be very diverse (yet) being a suburb on the outskirts. Most students go on to post-secondary education. Most of the community has at least a college degree; education is a priority. There are classes that can really push you, too.
