Waconia Public School District Reviews
The Waconia Public School District not only cares about every single grade the same amount, which is very high, but they also focus on and care about you as an individual. I have gone to Waconia schools for my entire life and I have never felt like no one cares like no one will say no if I ask them for help, academic or non-academic related. Just off the top of my head, I can name multiple teachers and other district staff that have guided me and become a friend to me throughout my time in Waconia. Plus, to show how much an impact these individuals really had on my life, I applied and got the job at the districts after school child care, working with the same people that took care of me after school preschool through 8th grade. In the end, there is one thing that one needs to know for sure, Waconia is a town, community, and haven that invites and accepts everyone that shows up at the front door and I am proud and honored to be a part of a tremendous, historic district.
Waconia is a great school. Small town feel with nice teachers. The kids are pretty nice and learning is important to most of them. They have a big choir and band department. Lots of kids are in sports and clubs. The middle school was added on to and turned into the high school, it is very nice. Which means the middle school is the old high school, state of the art, and not that old. I would update the early childhood screenings to include a Dyslexia screening and incorporate specialized learning for Dyxlexia in early grades .. this would have helped my sister a lot.
I attended school within the Waconia Public School district all the way from second grade through graduation. The elementary and middle school provided fast tracks for advanced students as well as hands on assistance to students struggling academically. The school district lacks diversity, but is a tight knit and compassionate community. The music and art department is wonderful, but the math and science department is lacking.
