Vigo County School Corporation Reviews
While my experience with the Vigo Country School Corp. has been fairly good, the condition of my school is questionable. For example, it would be lovely if the clocks could work for more than three weeks, or if the air conditioning and/or heating of the classrooms was consistent. At least the cockroach population seems to have gone down.
The buildings are falling apart. There are a lack of teachers. There is not equal opportunity for students at the different high schools, some offer some courses and others do not.
I enjoyed the diversity of the Vigo County school corporation. During my many years here, I met a variety of students coming from diverse backgrounds. I was frustrated with the technology used in the classrooms especially when nearby schools appeared to be using technology more in their classrooms. There are fantastic teachers in Vigo. I imagine every corporation is bound to have a few bad teachers and administrators. Therefore, I would say the corporation should work harder to make sure they are hiring the best possible employees. A lot of students in Vigo rely on teachers for advice and help for their futures because they don't have the ideal home situations. Therefore, employees of the corporation need to be the absolute best or provided with the training required to do so. I felt safe in the schools. I recommend the school corporation work on improving the preparation of high school students for college. Overall, I was satisfied and went on to do well in my first year of college.
