Vestavia Hills managed to exceed my expectations because of its vast opportunities. They have numerous organizations to help the community and to also give students the opportunity to act more freely upon their passion, like Amnesty Club, Science Olympiad, Speech and Debate, etc. Both academic teams and athletic teams are greatly acknowledged throughout the students and faculties in the school, so there is diverse support for every team. The school also faithfully maintains a clean and safe environment to help provide the students with the best classroom environment. One of the best attributes of VHHS is the teachers. Generally, teachers care for their students and their education, and they are active in developing relationships with them to help their understanding of their students' conditions. VHHS is a unique school where I can learn something new everyday, and I can see academic and personal growth in myself through the years I have been here.

Overall, my high school experience has been good. Fights and bullying are rare. The lunch is tasty. All the teachers are working hard to see their students execel. In addition, the administration has been active in student engagement. Of course the school is not perfect. First, I want the school to get rid of "Early Bird" to force students to get an extra hour of sleep instead of pushing themselves to go to school at 7:30 AM for an extra class. It's hard to be at school for 8 hours a day. Everyone on the team doesn't have a study or lunch either. There is no time to rest, eat, or sleep. Another problem is the funding. The school focuses on sports teams, and not educational teams. Next, the school needs to quickly implement methods to keep the school safer.
Vestavia has a very home feel about it. I have been in this school system since kindergarten and have the friends I do because of this system. I feel very equipped to be going to college soon after the education that Vestavia has given me. Vestavia could work on creating more activities for everyone to be involved in, but other than that the diversity is good in the system!
