I was in the Verona Area School District from Kindergarten to 12th grade. It is a great school district with very good teachers who love teaching! They help you write grammatically correct papers and make detailed projects, and the teachers will help you understand concepts of their class to you outside of class if you don't understand it in class when they teach it. I say all of this because Verona School District is where I grew up. It helped me become who I am today. And look at me now, a college freshman at a 4 year liberal arts private college. Who would have thought I would end up here. I owe it all to the teachers I had throughout my childhood that made me able to even get into this school.

At Verona Area High School I feel that the overall experience was good. However, I do feel that there are some major problems with VAHS. First off, the school is very focused on sports and competition. This is a good thing when you are more athletic. However, sometimes this means that they lose focus on other achievements such as theatre, the arts, and academic achievements. One wonderful thing to look forward to is that they are building a new school with brand new facilities and it will be open in the fall of 2020. When looking at the teachers in VAHS they are okay. Most teachers are good, they teach you and you learn. Then there are the wonderful teachers that not only teach you but care about you and want you to succeed, those teachers outweigh the teachers that don't teach or care but I will acknowledge that those teachers exist as well. Overall, VAHS is a school that offers a sports-focused experience, with average learning, new facilities.
The Verona Area School District has been very good to me over the years. Academics are great and they make sure to start developing you as a student from a very young age. They have even started to do more personalized learning so kids can learn at their own pace. Overall, the community is very safe and secure. I never really felt uncomfortable throughout my experience. One of the best things, I think, about the Verona Area School District is the Athletics. I have always loved sports and playing for Verona has made me love them more. Whether it is actually playing in a Varsity game, or even just watching all the different sports compete has been very enjoyable.
