I had the best teachers throughout my whole student career at Vernon Township School District schools. Every teacher I had was engaging, intelligent, and always prepared with lessons for each class. I was fortunate enough to have an outstanding teacher for my senior advanced placement English class. I was well prepared for my college freshman English class because of that teacher and class. The foreign language class options were outstanding and allowed students to take a language that they were sincerely interested in studying. The science and biology classes were also exceptional! The hands-on science and biology labs were incredibly engaging and exciting. The diversity amongst the students allowed for greater understanding of other cultures and religious beliefs. Even the choices of extracurricular activities and committees were outstanding. If I could do it all over again, I definitely would!

I speak of the high school, because it's the most important school, I believe, in the district.
There are lots of opportunities when it comes to classes. Vernon is one of two schools in Sussex, New Jersey, that has a comprehensive strings program. There are diverse AP classes, and many different extracurricular courses like Cosmetology, Music Production, Computer Graphics, Computer Science, Art classes, 4 different languages, and more. We have many different facilities. There are many different clubs and activities to be involved in for all interests.
As with all schools, there are good and bad teachers. I feel well-prepared for college, but I have taken mostly AP and honors classes, which are hard and stressful, but fun anyway. My few CP classes have also been fun, and rewarding in a different way.
VTSD is overall a good school district--one that sends students to Ivy League schools, and other prestigious colleges and universities, and prepares them well for those schools.
Overall, Vernon has been a very good experience for me both academically and socially. I feel that the teachers at Vernon are overall positive, helpful, and have your best interest in mind. Although some courses may be challenging, most teachers help in every way they can.
